Seven People Charged With Showing Their Junk At Mifflin Streak

Seven People Charged With Showing Their Junk At Mifflin Streak
So last night I got word from someone that the Mifflin Streak would be happening, and I should probably get down there to cover it for the blog. But I, ahem, had some other plans for the evening, so .... Anyway, it shouldn't be shocking to anyone that at least seven people were arrested for Open Lewdness/Disorderly Conduct. I mean this thing has been happening for over 30 years and people seem to get arrested every year. Because we can't have naked people running around this campus. I'm not sure why we can't, but obviously we can't.

I got my hands on a copy of the Penn State University police report, which details exactly what went down last night/this morning. Reading over it you know that the police were probably tipped off that the streak was going to be happening. As the report reads, at 11:33 last night, "University Police personnel monitored a large crowd along Mifflin Road." Hmm, wonder why?

Then, from 12:13am to 12:58am six guys and one girl were charged with open lewdness (which btw is a sex crime. Pretty messed up huh?). A couple of the reports that stand out are the guy who "fought with several officers when they attempted to arrest him" and was also charged with resisting arrest, and the "nude male exposing himself in a window at Mifflin Hall." Fantastic!

Clearly this is a tradition that must be upheld. It's as much of a tradition at Penn State as THON (at least that's what Urban Dictionary says). So hopefully Safeguard Old State helps get on board to protect it. Come on Tom Shakley, this is obviously more important than State Patty's Day!

Oh, and if you have any pictures, get them to me ASAP!

Safeguard Old State: Another example of pathetic Penn State Government. UPUA is a joke, and what is left over of USG in SOS is dumb as well. Great... Gavin and Tom: Two of Penn State's Finest right? spare me Posted 05/05/2008 09:29 AMReply

That photo's not from Penn State, its from Pomona College. Next time ask before you take photos from a student newspaper. Posted 05/05/2008 2:11 PMReply

@ Anonymous:

SOS is not a form of student governance. And hey, God bless Tom Shakely for staking his name and reputation on his convictions. It's better than inane, incognito blog comment posts.

I reworked your comment into something a little more accurate:

ANONYMOUS: Another example of pathetic JACKASSERY. ANONYMOUS is a joke, and what is left over of HIS BRAIN in THAT HIDEOUS HEAD OF HIS is dumb as well. Great... ANONYMOUS: WORLD'S NUMBER ONE ****, right? EXACTLY.

<3,

To the commenter who blasted Tom/Gavin: You're absolutely pathetic. Undoubtedly, you served in student government or perhaps even Student Affairs, and are an abject failure. Not only is Tom Shakely winning the hearts and minds at Penn State, but he's an honorable guy. Gavin just kicked the establishment's ass and was willing to take on the administration on the facilities fee, something no student body president has done for a long time. Your idiocy amazes. I was in court today and the girl was found Guilty. This should not have happened to her. Now she has that charge on her record for the rest of her live, just because of a college "tradition" This is a case of selective procecution. I hope she appeals. Posted 06/11/2008 4:30 PMReply
