The gorgeous weather prevailed for most of the day, despite the otherwise assumption of rain.  Rides, free food and concerts are on the traditional itinerary for Spring Fling.

The Pirate Ship, perhaps the most notorious of the Spring Fling attractions, was in full swing (pun intended).  Among other rides, The Gravitron and The Scrambler were favorites of the crowd.  Though the lines were ridiculously long at times, the funnel cake and fried dough were well worth the wait.

While student bands such as Soundhouse and Bovice filled the stage during the day, perhaps the two most anticipated events of Spring Fling were the performances by Matt Nathanson and Lifehouse.  Though, as expected, the sky opened up just before dusk, and the crowd was drenched with what could only be described as a monsoon.  Lifehouse went on just after ten, an hour later than scheduled.  Students still showed up to see the show, despite the torrential downpour.  Lifehouse, as always, put on an amazing show.  Lead singer, Jason Wade was looking as stunning as ever. Though it was hard to see past the mass of umbrellas (honestly, who brings an umbrella to a concert?), the night was an overall success.
