A quick look at The Collegian today shows that they still have Harry Potter on the brain. But a closer look shows something a bit odd: Dateline London. So, they had a reporter in London for the release of the book? Hmmm, something sounds fishy.
So apparently this Harry Potter thing is a big deal, and The Collegian covered the midnight release at Barnes and Noble and Webster's. Why you would spend a perfectly good Friday night waiting for a book is beyond me. The only time you should wait that late for anything is when Guns N Roses finally releases Chinese Democracy, because that will surely mark the beginning of the apocalypse.
Anyway, according to The Collegian, Mark Ballora, who is an associate professor of integrative art and music technology, was dressed up as a wizard and reading aloud from some previous Potter books. He's quoted as saying, "I'm always a wizard, but I can't tell anyone that. I'm just glad the Ministry of Magic let me out tonight."
Somebody please strip his associate professorship for god's sake!
But the big story is the one from merry old England. It seems that Caitlyn Prendergast went to London to write about the release for The Collegian. But an OTR Tipster tells us that Caitlyn is such a fan of the book series that she went to London just to get the book five hours before anyone on this side of the pond could. WOW! That sounds worth it.
And they say college students are apathetic.
