Those Olympic tennis players really have it tough; after competing in Beijing, they now face the U.S. Open— and they’re tired. The poor things have been flying first class all over the world! And playing games! And drinking Gatorade!
According to Newsday’s coverage of the jetlag victims:
"The last couple of weeks for me were really exhausting because I had to travel all around the world," said Novak Djokovic, who flew back home to Serbia after an event in Cincinnati, then on to Beijing, then back to New York for the Open. "Everything in 10 days. You can imagine how I feel."
Djokovic, who earned a bronze medal, said he felt exhausted his first couple of days back in the United States and battled bouts of dizziness, forcing him to scale back his practice sessions…
"By the time it's like 7 or 8 in the evening, I can't keep my eyes open, so I'm having a hard time," [Jelena] Jankovic said. "I'm trying to adjust, especially, [if] I play some night matches here. It's very important for me to be ready for that."
Boo effing hoo. Novak, Jelena, my darling little muffin faces, man up. Or at least stop whining and take naps.
