See here's something they don't teach you at Penn State. If there's a hurricane coming, don't go kite surfing. Although, that should be common sense, right? Well, not for Penn State grad Kevin Kearney who is in the video above and is now in critical condition after slamming into the side of a building while trying to kite surf during Tropical Storm Faye.
So you look at that video and you probably say to yourself, "just let go jackass!" Well, he can't because he's strapped into the harness and while there are emergency release straps, he wasn't able to reach them. The video above was taken by a Fort Lauderdale CBS station and the cameraman says Kearney was picked up by a waterspout.
Here's my advice, if you're in an area prone to hurricanes or tropical storms, just stay inside when emergency officials tell you to seek shelter. Although, if you're going to go out on the beach make sure there's a camera, because that video is awesome!
