Much beloved pan-Asian restaurant (or much maligned, if you are my actually-Asian roommate) Joy Yee's has been closed for remodeling for the entire year.
The website claims the restaurant will be back on its feet in Spring '08... well, it's spring. And there is still no bubble tea in my hands.
What's the big hold up? Who's got the down low on when Joy Yee's is coming back? I didn't think it would be too much to ask to partake in some of their delish, slightly overpriced, gigantic servings of Asian cuisine before graduation, but I guess I was wrong. Where else am I going to get food that comes in a hollowed out pineapple?
Alternatives to Joy Yee's include: Thai Sookdee, Lulu's (this place still exists, right?), Dozika, Cozy Noodles, Ruby of Siam (DO NOT GET THE BUBBLE TEA. Seriously, I thought I might throw up.), and some random place who's name escapes me on Noyes Street. Ok, so actually there's a lot of Asian cuisine in Evanston. I still want Joy Yee's.
