Bucky, you’re a good drinking friend and everything, but I don’t really trust you with my cash.
So the UW system is currently trying to lower the costs of its textbook prices. Students at UW Madison and Milwaukee currently pay an average of $950 every year on books. Now let’s compare that to the $300 UW-La Crosse students pay each year.
Granted kids up in La Crosse have to return their books at the end of the semester (since they’re rented), but how often does your chem text book fascinate you so much that you’d want to hold onto it for the rest of your life?
This would be quite nice, since we as students don’t really have too many options when it comes to books. Some of my friends decide they simply won’t buy a book that cost as much as my mothers first car. And are we supposed to believe that it costs almost as much to print these as it does for us to buy them?!
Tchah! Right!
