Besides being famous for their inherent creepiness, Princeton grad students are also among the nerdiest twenty-somethings on the East Coast. Case in point: 26-year-old former PhD candidate Joshua Green's appearance on the CW's Beauty and the Geek. Since it's an Ashton Kutcher show, the premise is simple: brainless beauties are matched with awkward geeks. The last pair standing after thirteen weeks wins $250,000, which is much better than a grad student stipend.
Green got the gig after prodding from friends. "It's funny when everyone says you've got to go on this show because you have to have some good characteristics like intelligence, but you also have to have some bad characteristics like social awkwardness," he said.
On the bright side, Joshua has a fan base. Gordlorulz76 wrote on the CW message board that Joshua looks like Ernie and " I just love him he is sooooo cute." But this down to earth star won't let such praises get to his head. "I don't care how I was portrayed because the people who know me will be able to put things in context and fill in the pieces," he says.
