In the attempt to piss off the remaining people living on campus, Maryland has decided to rip up La Plata Beach and replace it with astroturf.

While some of you may be wondering if this renovation will cost the lovely chunk of land its name, the answer is, "No." It will still be called La Plata Beach, but the sand and the actual grass that once resided there will no longer have their place in front of lovely La Plata Hall.

While there's no confirmed explanation as to why La Plata Beach is being renovated, one can only assume that it's damage from constant mudsliding behind the change.

It's sad: the only kitschy thing on North Campus is being ripped to shreds. Welcome new students!
