The View Stays Catty: Barbara Walters Strikes Back at Rosie

Recently Rosie O’Donnell told America what America already sort of knew. According to the LA Times, “Barbara Walters, she told reporters on Wednesday morning, ‘wanted everyone to believe and think and act as if [the women on 'The View'] get along and are really good friends and happy and hang out together, and, you know, that's just not the reality. I'm not saying they loathe each other, but the fact of the matter is there was not a lot of camaraderie off camera.’”

Now Barbara Walters is entering the first step in grieving the loss of, well, appearances, by issuing a “tactful” (i.e. pointed without highlighting her culpability in the cattiness) response. Walters told America, “We’re very proud of some of our alumni… but there are some people who have done this show and then for years feel they need to dump on it, maybe for publicity, and that not only hurts me, but I resent it. So if the shoe fits lady— ladies—get on with your lives."

Rosie has since responded via viral video. The video shows Rosie watching The View then saying, “I do not know what Star Jones and Debbie Matenopoulos did, but oooooh, lady… she is pissed off!”
