Saturday is proving to be a big day for Purdue athletics. With the football team’s last game of the season kicking off at noon, against IU in the Old Oaken Bucket Game, followed by a 6pm tip off for the men’s basketball team against Coppin State.
The final football game has more on the line than usual; Indiana and Purdue both only have one win this season in Big Ten Conference play, if the Bucket Game wasn’t already a ‘must win’ for both schools.
The men’s basketball team continues their strong season, picking up exactly where they left off last year, and continue to keep fans hopeful for an even better season in 2008-09. This will be the final game before the team travels to Madison Square Garden in New York City to compete in the NIT semifinals, first against Boston College November 26. The championship game will be November 28, where the Purdue Boston College winner will play the winner of Alabama-Birmingham vs. Oklahoma.
