I can't really think of a better way to spend the last month before school starts then dancing in the blistering heat, listening to bands, playing in mudd and drinking all day to prepare for PU gamedays. Everyone's favorite midwest music festival (and quite possibly midwests only music festival) is upon us once again, Lollapalooza.

The name Lollapalooza means "something outstanding or unusual" and although a bunch of kids stumbling around in alcohol and drug-induced commas may not be so outstanding or unusual, the artist lineup is both. Lollapalooza does something that most music festivals haven't really gotten the hang of yet, and that's including artists that bring diversity so its not just a bunch of hippies spinning around on LSD. That was proven last year when Kanye West played a set while Ryan Adams and Broken Social Scene played a few hours before. Only at Lollapalooza can you be a hippy on Friday, a little emo Saturday morning, a rocker Saturday night, and all three on Sunday.

This year is no different, because you can once again jam out to Amy Winehouse and the Roots, slam a few beers while rocking out to the Silversun Pickups and Pearl Jam, and finally you can end your weekend by "burning one down" with Ben Harper.

Because after all my friends it is 2007 and you can have it all.
