The Conservative Right Finally Speaks Up!

The Conservative Right Finally Speaks Up!

After weeks and months of the Exponent's unofficial and subtle (by subtle I mean headline front page news every day) endorsement of Barack Obama, it was nice to see the Republicans making themselves known for once. (What the heck have the Purdue College Republicans been doing all this time?!) Today the Purdue Review distributed thousands of their right-wing publications around campus.

Put out by the Purdue University Conservative Action Network, this is the first time we've seen The Purdue Review all semester. It seems they only publish once or twice a year and if you blink you miss it. While the Obama soldiers have been plastering every cork board surface and placing in every daily newsprint and harassing all passerbys on the sidewalk, the conservative side of our students (which we've been told is rather large on this Midwestern campus) has been essentially MIA.

Better late than never, I guess, though I'm not sure why they didn't distribute a bit earlier. Gems in today's issue include an article titled "Obama Doesn't Want Girls Punished with a Baby;" a table comparing John McCain great and Obama's failing ideas about gas, business, and home ownership; a praise for Sarah Palin called "Mother, Mayor, Moose Hunter... and her favorite movie is Hoosiers!;" and some story linking Obama to terrorists.

Tomorrow's the big day, if you're into that sort of thing, so go do that thing everyone has been brainwashing you to do since 2004. Booths in the Union will be open until 6 p.m. You might even get some free illegal coffee out of it.
