When Professors Get Pissed... at AHor

It hurts inside and out, mostly inside though...

I might be playing with fire by bringing professor business to OTR, but I’m pretty p*ssed off and don’t have the balls to confront face to face. Not until I get my final paper back anyway. I don’t know how many of you out there have gotten angry e-mails from your professors, but I definitely got myself a doozy today. To preface the e-mail I received, the class was supposed to turn in a proposal for the final paper, either via e-mail or in person. The professor had requested that to make things easier for her, we turn it in as a hard copy to a particular building (no room number) if we could. Even though I could have just sent it in as an e-mail, I sent an e-mail asking what room number. After waiting for four hours and after receiving no reply, I sent the proposal in an e-mail saying that I attached it because I hadn’t heard back from her. Three days later, I get this:

(AHOR),
You can read. The room for (Department) is listed in the guide to the () building—or you could look on line. Why should I have to answer a question about a room number? (Prof initials)

I’m not sure what upsets me the most about this e-mail. For one, the professor wouldn’t know my name in person if she saw me, and this e-mail isn’t exactly the first step toward forming a warm teacher-student bond. Where do professors get off talking down to people they don’t even know? And people they’re supposed to be helping no less. But the worst part really is that I was attempting to do her a favor by coming in and turning in a hard copy when I could have just e-mailed it from the beginning. Instead, I get this… encouraging, for everyone.
