A woman in Tennessee is filing a lawsuit against her former fiancée for harassment. After they broke up, he bought an ad in the local newspaper and stated that he was happy the engagement was called off since the relationship was such a “nightmare.” Ouch.

She is not the only woman who’s been a victim of post-breakup harassment. Earlier last month, a UGA student was stalked by her ex-boyfriend after he hacked into her computer and stole her identity.

Breaking up is painful but how can you avoid being a victim of harassment yourself? Look for these six signs your boyfriend is a psycho.

1) Insane jealousy. If your boyfriend is the jealous type, chances are he’s very insecure. If you guys break up, he will most likely do everything in his power to keep you moving on with your life and finding someone new.

2) He speaks Geek. Geek talk is usually harmless but his knack for hacking into computers and websites is not. You can assume that he will ruin your reputation when you guys break up.

3) He’s too romantic. Obviously, he won’t take the breakup well. For the next two years, he will leave you 143 messages a day begging you to take him back. He will also send you flowers, chocolates, notes, teddy bears, etc. to show he’s sincere. Even if you change your number and address, he will still harass your friends and family for any information about you.

4) He’s a compulsive liar. He could have made up the person you were with. He may actually be a serial killer on police’s most wanted list.

5) He’s filthy rich. Wallowing in his millions is one way for a guy to deal with a breakup. But as a way to hang on his last shred of dignity, he will use his money to hire a hit man to stalk/torture/kill you.

6) He’s obsessed with working out. This is so he can beat the sh*t out whoever you date after him.

If the person you’re with displays any of these signs, clearly you shouldn’t break up with him. Instead, act like a psycho yourself so that he’ll break up with you. That way, the feelings will be mutual and you won’t have to worry about being harassed or killed.
