In one corner there’s Cindy McCain, former drug addict and wife of the ancient Republican relic John McCain. In the other corner, there’s Michelle Obama, wife of yuppie Democratic hotshot, Barack Obama. The fight is on as these candidates’ spouses grapple to stay in the limelight. But who will knockout who in this fight to the White House?
 
She has gone from stealing pharmaceuticals to stealing dessert recipes. Who could I possibly be referring to? The Republican candidate’s wife of course – Cindy McCain.
 
Cindy McCain has graced the pages of this month’s Vogue and has opened up her doors to tell about the intimate details of her somewhat derailed life journey.
 
The USC graduate and Anheuser-Busch heiress has had her fair share of scandals unbefitting to royalty. After suffering a stroke and struggling with an intense addiction to prescription drugs (Vicodin and Percocet), Cindy is now trying to sell herself to the public as who she is – a recovering drug addict.
 
Harper’s Bazaar has featured Cindy McCain in their July issue and addresses the issues of what’s “myth and reality” in the Republican darling’s life. One of the biggest matters to be tackled is Cindy’s drug addiction. As I sit here and put pen to paper (or finger to keyboard), I can’t help but realize how her addiction has become a huge issue.
 
All the way to left is Michelle Obama - the Harvard Law School grad who's political stance sometimes overshadows her husband's. This South Side-bred broad has attended some of the nation's most prestigious institutions but continues to lack that first lady sense of decorum. As rumored, Michelle has made derogatory comments at a church referring to White Americans as "whitey" (seems both me and her have a flair for controversy).
 

Michelle's constant struggle with her humble roots and her upper-middle class guilt is perfectly portrayed in her own spread in Vogue where she was photographed clad in pearls, a perfectly coiffed up-do and a couture satin dress.

As one first lady potential is trying to be the all American girl next door the other is trying to fill the shoes of a certain first lady fashion icon (cough Jackie O cough). We'll see who wins the hearts and minds of Americans in November.
