Hurricane = change in plans

Hurricane = change in plans

Texas will shut down under any hint of severe weather conditions. Baylor is certainly no exception to this rule. In preparation for Hurricane Ike, Baylor began sending e-mails out to its students starting on Wednesday, the first of which stated that Baylor was watching the storm and hadn't decided on any particular action. Thursday's e-mail moved the football game up a day (from Saturday morning to Friday night), and reiterated the "duck and cover" practice for shielding yourself from high winds.

But Friday's e-mail took the cake, indicating to students that elevators would be shut down in the off-chance that the power goes out, so students don't get trapped (sucks for sixth-floor Collins girls). Paranoid!!! Blah, blah, blah, students should park their cars in garages, the library will be closed on Saturday (but the SLC will be open with normal hours, go figure), but just so students know where they fall on the priorities list, Lady and Joy have been temporarily moved from campus. Yes, the live bears on campus have been moved from the multi-million dollar habitat in order to take cover.

However, as the storm hit this morning, it only brought a steady rain and some wind (ok, so the wind was kind of intense, but the rain was moderate). I personally can't wait to see Baylor flip out the next time "severe' weather conditions intimidate our Bears.
