There are some things you just don't do over the holidays. One of those things is pierce kittens. Yet, apparently, those people exist. And yes, they are in our own wonderful nation.
A woman in Wiles-Barre, Pennsylvania attempted to sell "gothic kittens" on EBay, MSNBC and SkyNews report. The kittens, around 3 months old, featured a variety of neck, tail, and ear piercings. One of them was "Snarley Monster," a "three-month-old, floppy-eared, loveable kitten with a docked tail".
Uhm, what?
The kitten has two 14-gauge ear piercings and a "submission ring" through the back of its neck.
Nothing is worse than hurting harmless animals, and fortunately, SPCA (Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) agreed:
The owner asked for offers over $400 for the kitten, the jewelry and a silk submission lead to clip onto the neck ring.
Ms. Carol Morrison [Animal Protection officer] said the kittens would be checked over by a vet before a decision is made on whether they will be placed in new homes.
The woman that did this will most likely be charged. She also owns a pet grooming center in her basement (no, that's not sketchy), which will likely be closed down.
In a world that's already hard enough, let's leave the kittens alone, guys. Seriously.
