An Israeli man has developed an electronic exoskeleton that could potentially make it possible for those paralyzed from the waist down to walk again.

The exoskeleton can be set to walk, stand, sit, descend, or climb and uses body sensors to guide its robotic legs.

Unfortunately, Amit Goffer, who invented the exoskeleton and is also paralyzed, is not eligible to use it because he does not have fully functioning arms.  Hopefully as technology progresses however, a newer, model will be accessible for Goffer, and others like him, to use.

The electronic exoskeleton should hit commercial markets by 2012 and will sell for about the same price as a high-end wheelchair.
