The Gossip Girls promo team recently got people talking about their new "racy ads". The images feature the faces of the teen leads of the hit show in various provocative situations, and sultry, half-lidded eyes to match. Across the pictures in large white letters are quotes from major publications stating just how controversial the show is.

Controversial? Edgy? It's a CW show about preppy rich teenagers. The only thing really going for them is the clothes.The show's efforts to "stir things up" is at best laughable, and the only people outraged are parent groups and churches. Not exactly the target shockees for these shocker ads.
