Lip-Synching at the Olympics

Lip-Synching at the Olympics
the actual singer, who is definitely cute enough for TV

Is nothing sacred? A statement was released by the Chinese media admitting that the cute pig-tailed girl who sang "Ode to the Motherland" during the opening ceremony was in fact lip-synching, because the face of the actual singer was "not suitable". Talk about being unnecessarily honest, a simple "yes" to the lip-synching claim would have been more than sufficed.

Fortunately, the original singer Yang Peiyi insists that it was an honor to have her voice featured in the ceremony, but she was forbidden to express displeasure to be deemed too unsuitable to have her face on display.
