Muslim For A Day

Muslim For A Day
Ramadan is the holiest month in Islam; Muslims must fast during daylight hours for the duration of the month, abstaining from food, drinks, and cigarettes from sunrise to sundown.

Each year, the Islamic Society of Rutgers University hosts a Fast-a-Thon charity event, inviting non-Muslims to experience delirious starvation for one day to remember that life is not always filled with a multitude of fried things. On October 9th, students will fast to raise money for victims of war in Darfur, and at sundown (6:26 pm), there will be a glorious feast for them to break their fast upon.

OTR's Miss Darcy (yours truly) will participate in this event, and keep a short chronicle of her day without food and drinks next Tuesday.
