From time to time, especially this week you can hear Purdue fans around campus saying, “I hate Notre Dame,” or “Their fans are just obnoxious.” Well to you Irish bashers, OTR asks you to look east for a real opponent to despise.

Ohio State. Or should I say, The Ohio State University; I’d hate for someone to think we were talking about Ohio University or Akron. Not even Notre Dame is stuck-up enough to throw the word ‘the’ in front of the school’s name. Yet students all insist on attacking an independent school that hasn’t won a bowl game in 10 years? A winless team we’ll likely stomp this weekend?

Boilers, let’s band together and focus our efforts on a real threat. Attack a team that is not only in our conference but a consistent National Championship contender. Focus on our 8th ranked Big 10 opponent for week six. Maybe then we can win. I say forget the Irish and let’s kick the ‘the’ out of Ohio State.
