RU Athletics Caught Embezzling Money, Again

So it appears Jesus, opps I mean Greg Shiano and his football team, are tied to yet another financial scandal.  The head coach that already makes a salary of $1.5 million annually, and granted unwarranted usage of new cars, jets, and helicopters; (courtesy of Rutgers, of course) is allegedly receiving an extra $250,000 from the University outside of his contract.

My question is: WHERE IS RUTGERS GETTING THIS MONEY FROM?! They just announced they will be increasing tuition by 8% this fall and the budget crunch has eliminated more than 800 jobs and many course offerings have been cut. On July 17, Rutgers’ board of governors decided to cut nearly $40 million in state aid.

According to officials, the state comptroller’s office has started an investigation today into the fiscal policies of Rutgers University’s athletic department. “My concern was the way in which they structured the deal,” said Weinberg, a state senator. “If you go through all of these machinations to pay somebody money in order to keep it from the public view, at best it’s inappropriate. If you’re ashamed of what you’re doing, you shouldn’t be doing it.”

Can you say money hungry S.O.B?
