Today is World AIDS day, and Rutgers remembers the struggle against this deadly disease by wrapping each tree on the lawn of Voorhees Mall with red cloth, stencilled with words "AIDS WILL NOT BE THE CRISIS OF OUR CENTURY". Even though the autumn reds and golds are long gone from the trees in preparation for winter, they look absolutely beautiful today. There's no better way to raise awareness on campus than to inspire with the power of beauty and hope.

Even if your classes and activities will not take you near Voorhees Mall on College Ave today, please make an effort to go see the trees in all their glory, and remember that one day, humanity will triumph over disease.
