Rutgers Prop8 Protest Rally

Members of the LGBT community, allies, and socially conscious Rutgers students gathered last night on the steps of Brower (where all the action seems to happen) to rally against Proposition 8. Rainbow themed flags, posters, outfits stood out in the darkness, and posters sporting sassy, in-your-face slogans waved as students such as Shawnna James made speeches that urged everyone to support equal rights for all.

The students agreed that the time for change really is now. The first black president just got elected, and this country should be moving towards a more perfect union, with a more perfect equality. Marriage should not be a privilege reserved for heterosexuals, but a celebration of love that can be enjoy by all.
