The Top Eateries in Your College Area

When you're living on campus, finding something desirable to eat within your budget can be frustrating.

The Princeton Review recently released a ranking of the top ten college campuses with the best food. Among the top five schools (in order) are: Virginia Tech, Bowdoin College, Wheaton College, Bryn Mawr College, and James Madison University.

But, if you want a break from the dining hall and eat off-campus, try these locations.

Tara’s near SUNY Stony Brook has cheap food such as $1 tasty burgers, cheap drinks, fun pool and other games to keep everyone entertained.

Stuff Yer Face is without a doubt a favorite around Rutgers-New Brunswick. Popular for their delicious stromboli & beer combos and affordable prices, Stuff Yer Face is a hotspot pretty much every day of the week.

At Penn State, there is a variety of fast food places within walking distance basically anywhere on campus. You have a choice of Nathan’s, Chick-fil-A, and Joegies (cheesesteaks and hoagie sandwiches).

Too bad Stuff Yer Face is a little over-priced sometimes. A pitcher of Yuengling is $20, compared to the $8 at Ale n Wich.

Thai Noodle is a great place to eat, too bad it has no alcohol.

If you're around LA for the summer and in search for cheap tasty eateries, try Chanos on Figueroa by the USC campus, Pink's Hot Dog Stand on Melrose & LaBrea, or Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles (surprisingly a great combination!). Posted 07/03/2008 6:35 PMReply
