Biodynamic farming may not be all the rage now, but this slightly cult-like agricultural phenomenon may bring salvation to our overly processed and polluted world. It's core idea is to treat the farm as an organism, and reject any kind of man-made outside components in the process of growing food and raising livestock, taking the concept of organic to a whole other level.
The ultra-spiritual practitioners of biodynamics use differently numbered "Preparations" in readying the soil and compost for different functions, and they do so by adding a very small amount of ingredients such as chamomile-stuffed cow intestines or quartz powder to the compost, to achieve the same effect as any industrial fertilizer, pesticide, or any other additive.
