I couldn't believe my ears when I found out that Snoop Dogg would be headlining Camp Bisco this year. Camp Bisco is a bonaroo or Coachella-like hippie festival near my hometown. I think to myself "Why would Snoop want to play a show in the middle of the woods in a small town?" I tried not to think much of it as I tried to sneak into the festival by walking over creeks and stepping over electric and barbed wire. Thankfully I did make it in...right after Snoop left the main stage.

Anticlimactic I know, however the festival itself was great Sans Snoop. Indy techno bands rocked Camp Bisco into the good night. One band stood out by riffing off the Super Smash Bros. Theme song. After dancing myself into a drunken mess, I decided to sneak under the stage in an attempt to get backstage to meet the band. My sneaking skill must have been spot on that night because I managed to stumble my way backstage. I met some of the guys who were awesome. They offered me a beer even though I was noticablly underage and inebriated.

I'm sorry to have missed Snoop D-O-Double G but Camp Bisco made my summer in its own right. It achieved any goal the typical up and coming hippie festival wants to reach: I slept under a car, I played hula-hoop with a girl who spoke a different language, and I only pieced together my actions of the night by asking other people what I did.
