A new policy put out by Stanford's medical school states that the entire medical campus will be smoke free, including on patios, seating areas, and any open areas bounded by certain roads. This seems like a universally healthy move--until you read the fine print. The ban applies to the med school campus, but not to the Stanford Hospital or the Lucille Packard Children's Hospital. Hmm..don't sick people and kids have lungs too?
