Tuition Increases for UC & CSU
The streets of California are jam-packed with sexy, young college students. Everywhere you go there’s a small-town escapee attending one of the “Sunshine State’s” colleges. But with this fall’s tuition increase, will the students continue to roam free or will they be forced to take up second jobs at the school library?

In yesterday’s issue of The Daily Aztec, there was an article that confirmed the rumors and fears of CSU and UC students- this fall semester California State University will take a 10% increase on tuition and University of California will up tuition by 7%.

As we all know, there’s a substantial amount of college students walking around with a black cloud of student loans hanging over their heads. Trying to find part-time jobs, scholarships and grants is already a harrowing experience but with these increases, students will have to start turning to second jobs to support their education.

After hearing Gov. Schwarzenegger promise to ease their financial burden, students are feeling both betrayed and angry that tuition has been skyrocketing for the past seven years without any sign of anchoring. Although, school officials say that most students will be able to receive financial aide, the students still fear they’ll soon be on their way to the poor house.

as a student for 4 years at a private university, i can completely relate to this article. college tuitions have gotten to a ridiculous level in any state you attend. not only is this a burden for the students but for the parents as well. something should be done to regulate the amount for college tuitions throughout the US. its not fair for students who have to sacrifice study time for work in order to pay off tuition and loans.
