Only upon reading today’s issue of The Free Press, (which one of my short stories is published in; so I suggest you run out and get a copy!) did I become aware of the latest dining hall scandal. Sadly, this one involves one of the most beloved employees, Tina. Tina was fired in September, due to allegations of sexual harassment.

According to The Free Press, a group of students approached Tina with a video camera, prompted her, then filmed her grabbing/describing her own breast. Now if you’ve ever encountered Tina, you would know that this was clearly a case of several students instigating a mentally handicapped woman. The students presented the video to the dining hall manager.

Two students have taken it upon themselves to fight these allegations with a petition, urging Sodexo to rehire Tina. Before today, the petitioners only had 45 signatures, but from 5p.m. to 7 p.m. tonight, they will be collecting signatures in the Hinman dining hall. The good people of Hinman will surely be thrilled to help out Tina’s cause for The Hinman dining hall has acted as a home for Tina, who has been employed by Sodexo for the past 11 years. The petition will be presented to Sodexo when more signatures are solicited.
