FIRE IN THE HOLE: Exploding Man-holes On Mass Ave

Those stumbling home from a highly successful Senior Bar last night might have noticed something amiss along the trek to the river houses. Rather than the usual tranquil vista, revelers were greeted to a sight that resembled one of Dante's circles of hell: flames were shooting forth from the sewers, smoke was billowing around the ABP. Yep. Mass Ave was pretty much on fire.

It seemed that an underground fire started around 2:30AM, near the intersection of Mass Ave and Dunster Street. Various businesses were forced to evacuate their spaces, and the area was rightfully deemed hazardous and off-limits. The Holyoke Center and UHS were shut down for the day.
