Seven Wonders: Long Island Addition

Seven Wonders: Long Island Addition
Seven Wonders: Long Island Addition

In my post from this morning, "Long Island Girls (And Boys) Do It Better," I essentially tried to refute a common belief that has been circulating about my native land.  Long Island is truly a wonderful place to live, and I simply wanted to educate those who are lead to believe otherwise.  While my initial intentions were to assert some good old fashioned Long Island pride, I may have been a tad harsh on New Jersey, straying away from the heart of the matter.  I suppose I was just venting; after all, it was a Jersey inhabitant that provoked the post in the first place (You know who you are).

Being home for the summer certainly makes it hard to provide CollegeOTR with solid Binghamton news, so I'm taking a hiatus from the happenings of Bing and plan to go back to my roots.  It's about time I make use of myself here on this modest little island (Yes, that's right, on).

In an effort to uncover the "Seven Wonders" of Long Island, I will travel (though nothings really more than an hour in either direction) to various locations, some famous, some lesser known gems, and report back with my experiences.  Come August, I'll narrow down the list, via poll, to the official "Seven Wonders" of Long Island.

I've got a few places in mind, but it would really be a great help if you fellow Long Islanders could leave comments, nominating your favorite spots.  It could be a restaurant, park, beach, or an entire town.  The sky's the limit, or rather, the Sound's the limit.
