Straight No Chaser Gains YouTube Cred, Gets Holiday Record Deal

Straight No Chaser - 12 Days of Christmas

In 1998, a bunch of Indiana University a cappella singers calling themselves Straight No Chaser performed a holiday song mashup. This year, waxing nostalgic about the good old days of college posted the video online.

It quickly became a YouTube hit, its popularity soaring so high that Atlantic Records CEO Craig Kallman saw the video-- and decided to sign the old a cappella group. Now the group has a record deal and is releasing an album called "Holiday Spirits."

See, you don't need an agent these days. You just need YouTube. Or maybe it was just a Christmas miracle.
