Saturday night at The Rat was one for the books. The party was advertised as a Studio 54 theme, though I'm not sure how a drag show, a Tarzan swing, and a midget were relevant. Yes, they actually advertised the appearance of a midget, dressed as Elvis. Exploitation much?
Decorated with pink and silver balloons, and tons of streamers, The Rat actually looked somewhat clean. Well, maybe not clean, but as nice as The Rat could possibly be. Meaning, a lack of overflowing urine out of the toilets and a floor that didn't pull your sandals off from the sticky debris of spilled drinks. What glory.
The night, overall, was rather eventful. At one point, everyone was instructed to clear the dance floor, and the special guest drag queen performed a lovely little number. Toward the end of the night, the midget started stripping on the bar.
The Rat was as packed as I'd ever seen it. The line to get in was wrapped around the building, and it was impossible to move with out grinding up against someone; though that's just the essence of The Rat. The DJ was awesome; almost everyone was dancing. With finals week rapidly approaching, it was definitely a great way to end the semester.
