The CW network is now shamefully raking in the gold from The Tyra Banks Show. The Emmy award winner may have mass appeal but she's still noted as one of television's stupidest talk show hosts.
The retired model has declared herself a pioneer for black models even though Grace Jones, Beverly Johnson and Donyale Luna all hit the market eons before Tyra was even discovered. Considering herself to be not only to be a fashion icon but the next Oprah, Banks has graced the pages of Harper’s Bazaar posing and paying tribute to Michelle Obama.
Banks was photographed with a Barack look-a-like in an Oval Office setting leading readers to believe that Bazaar is obviously gone blue for Obama. But is this a compliment to Michelle Obama? Does it help to have the woman who smelled Janet Jackson’s armpit and encouraged the racial profiling of a four year old to represent the wife of a candidate and a Harvard alum?
In an interview with Harper's Bazaar, Banks gushes about meeting Michelle Obama and how "she's not a 'ha, ha, ha' type." I don't exactly know what that means but I'm going on whine and guessing it was a compliment.
As I continued to read the Bazaar article, which almost mockingly praises her stupidity, I couldn't help but think how the Harvard students must be seething that she appeared in the shoot donning a Harvard sweatshirt - Michelle's alma mater. Sure, she was depicting another person in the shoot but I would not want Tyra within 500 yards of any of my alma mater's paraphernalia.
So my sympathies to Harvard students - I really can't imagine your pain.
