Barnegat, New Jersey was rampaged by a ninja earlier this week or so thought Carly Shilling. Shilling, a librarian-in-training, spotted a ninja running through the woods near Robert L. Hornbelt Elementary School wearing a karate gi and carrying a sword.
At the sight of this incredibly obvious threat to the school’s students, Shilling contacted the police department and the town's schools were immediately put on lockdown. Barnegat's finest released a search party for this menacing ninja and found the suspect clad in full karate gear, sneakers and a plastic sword at the Russell O. Brackman Middle School.
The criminal in question was 18-year old Christopher Begley who is a camp counselor and was on his way to a costume-themed orientation. After realizing he was running late, he began to sprint towards the school. Begley was completely unaware of all the havoc his costume had caused the town.
Seventeen minutes after Shilling placed the call, the town's schools were taken off lockdown after hearing word that their suspicious danger to society was really just a camp counselor. I wonder how stupid Shilling must have felt after finding out the alleged criminal was actually a goofy kid in a costume. Way to go, Carly Shilling!
