Either that, or he has way, way too much time on his hands.
Even if you've never heard of Paul Harris, that has to elicit one of a few reactions.
1. Laughter.
2. Confusion.
3. Hysterical laughter.
4. Extreme confusion.
When this video was made exactly I don't know, but I do know that it was put on YouTube on January 23rd, just a couple of days before Syracuse got spanked by Louisville.
The song being rapped to is 50 Cent's "21 Questions", featuring Nate Dogg. The person doing the rapping is in fact Paul Harris of the Syracuse University basketball team, and this is confirmed by several pieces of information.
First off, it says his name in the title of the video. Second, there are pictures of him in the video on the walls of the apartment. Third, the apartment looks like the apartments that they put basketball players in at Syracuse (I graduated from there last year). Finally, I interviewed Paul a number of times, so I can say without hesitation that it is in fact him.
Is it odd that he likes 50 Cent or raps and dances to him in the comfort of his own home? No, not at all. Is it even strange that he made a music video? Ehhh, not really. But, it is a bit odd that he put it up on YouTube. Or, that someone put it up on YouTube.
For those of you that don't know Harris, here's a brief bit of knowledge. He's a junior at SU who has a weak jumper that has improved and a decent ability to take the ball to the hole. However, what sets him apart is that at 6'4" or so, he's an athletic beast that can outrebound anyone in the conference (yes, Hasheem Thabeet included) for a tough rebound if necessary. Imagine Charles Barkely's height with Dennis Rodman's skill set. And then tone each down. That's Paul Harris.

Either way, this video was too funny to pass up. This is the sort of thing that if my friends found out about me making some sort of music video (my white equivalent might be Jack Johnson?), they'd beat the hell out of me. I'm going to venture safely that Paul doesn't have to worry about that.
Shouts to Michelle for the heads up on this video.
