Some people will go to extreme extents for a MySpace friend.
MyDeathSpace.com is a website that is getting growing attention for being an archive of MySpace users who have passed away. One will find on the website a list of former MySpacers with a headline of the age and how the person died.
When clicking on "John Scholer (23) was found murdered in his bed with a wound to the right side of his head", you will find his current MySpace picture, an article about his murder, a link to his MySpace page, and other "relevant" links.
"This site kind of lets you into the heart of darkness," said SU Professor Bob Thompson. "We see those kinds of things we try not to think about, which is how quickly mortality can come and claim us."
Exactly, it is something I don't want to think about. I don't know about you folks but I don't want to read how easily it is to die in a car or ATV accident, from an asthma attack, or from passing out and drowing in a shower (which are all listed deaths on the website).
And what about these "MDS" users as they call themselves? How sad are you to be perusing around the deceased's MySpace profile? Or maybe I'm just fighting the truth that one day even this average teenage superhero has to die.
