In case you missed it,
today's edition of Boston's favorite birdcage liner, the
Herald, has a penetrating look at, uh, the idea of college girls taking up pole dancing as a form of feminine empowerment.
"Three or four years ago, strip pole dancing started to catch on with college students, but lately it’s appearing more in pop culture," said Wendy Reardon, who teaches exotic dancing.
Well, isn't torture appearing more in pop culture, too? What's the argument here? BU women's studies professor (and, we're guessing, wild-eyed lesbo) Barbara Gottfried sets them, er, straight:
"The ’College Girls Gone Wild’ pull up their t-shirts because guys want them to. People argue strippers are in charge of their sexuality, but do women really want sex without emotion?"
How about it, ladies? Sex without emotion? Let's be honest - cuddling sucks.
