Syracuse Students Bond Over Election

Syracuse Students Bond Over Election

It's finally here—the day that will inevitably change the lives of all American citizens. I am seriously amazed at the student involvement, fiery anticipation and genuine concern for the election. I was inspired last night when I was walking through the student center and witnessed about ten students perched on chairs glued to televisions airing CNN.

We may not have anything in common besides attending the same University, but I can’t help but notice the bond that all of Syracuse’s students, from each class, are forming over this election. It hasn’t been about who’s voting for whom, but rather the fact that most everyone is not only eager to vote, but also eager to learn more about the politics and impact of this election. What is typically a night to go out to the bars with promise of deviating from an educational environment, this Tuesday there is only word of going out to watch the election—obviously still accompanied by a few drinks—I mean, we are college students.
