Boise State v. University of Idaho Rivalry Match (A.K.A. party) is on!

Boise State v. University of Idaho Rivalry Match (A.K.A. party) is on!

The bi-annual away game of Boise State  versus University of Idaho is finally upon Bronco fans, but many fans aren’t going to the game. Unfortunately, the Idaho ‘rivalry’ pits an undefeated team against a team running 2-8. Where U of I lacks in football, it makes up for in other areas, like Greek life.

With some fraternity houses older than 90...

At Boise State and nationally, students encouraged not to vote

Declare Yourself, a national non-partisan group focused on encouraging young people to vote, is at it again. In the recently uploaded sequel to ‘Don’t Vote,’ the pro-voting campaign once again taps a myriad of celebrities to convince youth to register and hit the booths.

Some highlights of the video are Justin Timberlake justifying himself wit...

Social Networking Utilities That are Well Overdue

Social Networking Utilities That are Well Overdue

As social networking continues to pervade our everyday lives, Tom and Zuckerberg add more and more applications to dominate our time. Many of these are pretty ground-breaking and convenient for ‘virtual’ life navigation. However, there are quite a few ideas that either social network would be wise to hop on. I won’t even sue for theft of intelle...

Top five drinking games (in ascending order of how drunk you get)

Top five drinking games (in ascending order of how drunk you get)

When going to parties, it is important to know how hammered you want to be by the end of the night. Setting a limit on how many drinks you consume or bringing friends to cut you off are two practical, yet somewhat boring, ways to make sure you don’t end up making a bigger fool of yourself than you plan on doing. Next time someone starts to offer...

Gay Marriage Held at BSU, Surprisingly No Firebombings Ensue

Gay Marriage Held at BSU, Surprisingly No Firebombings Ensue

On Tuesday, a mock wedding was held in the student union building between Jeffrey Epperson and Nathan Aiken. Surprising enough, there were no protests.

The cultural center put on this wedding to publicize the fact that only one state allows marriage between same-sex couples, three honor domestic partnerships and four recognize a same-sex civil...

BSU Takes Politics More Seriously Than Politicians

BSU Takes Politics More Seriously Than Politicians

In lieu of the upcoming election, Boise State’s student run lecture series, Vox Discipuli, hosted two nationally recognized pundits in a political debate earlier today. Is it ridiculous to anyone else that a small state school hosted a more cogent sounding debate than the recent vice presidential one?

Peter Beinart and Jonah Goldberg, editors,...

Obama Genealogy May Win Election

Obama Genealogy May Win Election

There’ve been quite a few controversies (and by controversy, I mean facetious rhetoric for rednecks) regarding Obama’s eligibility for presidency. Some say he wasn’t born in America. Meanwhile, the rest of America has been asked the question ‘Is America ready for a black president?’ and then ‘Is Obama black enough?’ Now Obama’s heritage looks as...

Top Five Reasons to Live at the BSU Fraternity House

Top Five Reasons to Live at the BSU Fraternity House

That’s right, THE fraternity house. At Boise State, Kappa Sigma is the only fraternity to have a house. This lovely, mostly 70’s-esque house (it’s actually two old houses dating around the early to mid-Cold War) offers many opportunities that no BSU student should pass up.

Learn useful skills such as cooking for yourself. Don’t worry abou...

Boise State University QB Kellen Moore Named National Offensive Player of the Week

When you think about being a freshman, maybe you think of taking all those 101 classes and maybe being the bottom of social hierarchy. For Kellen Moore, the Boise State University QB, this is not the case however. This week, Moore was named the Walter Camp Football Foundation’s National Offensive Player of the Week.

According to Fox12 News:

BSU Appropriates Milk Slogan to Talk About Rape, Students Roll Eyes

It always amazes me what makes big news and scandal status on this campus.

This year's new 'Got Consent?' banner (last years' was stolen... hmmm) was pilfered within the first week it was raised in the student union building. My god! someone call Shaggy and the gang! Even more hilarious than the fact this is BSU scandal worthy is the fact peop...

Once again the institution of higher education located at the capitol of one of the nations reddest states, Boise State University, has stayed true to its conservative environment.

Boise State Rejects Condoms and Saving Money

Boise State University is saying no to condoms, or at least, condom discounts. Recently after five members of the BSU community complained about condoms coupons in a catalogue of coupons offered to students, the coupons were removed. Since no one, especially college students, likes saving money or avoiding STDs, this was obviously a beneficial d...
