Of course it is. Safety was a huge priority for me when I chose a college.

Totally overblown. Crime can happen anywhere. I didn't choose a college based on how safe I thought the campus would be.

Bring Back RUPD
Remember how the budget cut reduced the number of RUPD officers on each campus to one? If there were more of them, maybe we wouldn't get crime alerts every few days about students being mugged at knife/gun point.

Many of the robberies seem to occur on Busch and Douglass campus. Maybe this will clear Livingston Campus' name in being a sketchier place to live.
Students Patrol Streets to Fight Crime
Well-intentioned but not all that comforting.


Associated Students of Madison launched its Neighborhood Watch Program Friday.

Students volunteers will patrol the Spring Street/College Court and Camp Randall areas in two shifts every Friday and Saturday night from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m.

Tips to Avoid Being Raped
In response to yesterday’s article regarding a $1 million UC-wide initiative to help women avoid sexual assault, common sense suggests an alternative list of tips concerning women’s safety.

1. Don’t go to frat houses

So if you follow the tip you should never find yourself in danger of sexual assault. Hey, look, that didn’t cost anywhere near $1 million.
