UMass Amherst was named after its beloved hometown of Amherst but apparently its hometown isn’t so beloved anymore. After years of bearing the town’s name, the university now wants to drop Amherst and keep the UMass.

Even the frat boys of Beta were blasting MGMT songs at their parties over the last week (although their MGMT picks were hideously mismatched with their "I'm a white boy from the suburbs and I consume mainstream rap to feel like a rebel" musical choices). Enough about the crowd. Everybody's a fan.

MOBIUS BAND according to Wikipedia: Mobius Band is an electronic rock trio from Brooklyn, New York consisting of drummer Noam Schatz, bassist, singer and keyboardist Peter Sax and guitarist, singer and keyboardist Ben Sterling.

Awesome! Wesleyan Musicians: Max, Ben, Jacob

Their summer tour was made up of three solo performers including Max Horwich '08, Ben Seretan '10, and Jacob Milstein '09. Max told me in an email earlier this summer that each performed their "own material, sometimes alone and sometimes supported by the other two."
