$10 Well Spent: Central Park SummerStage

$10 Well Spent: Central Park SummerStage
This is Vampire Weekend!Rapper, Kid Sister from Chicago.Born Ruffians in a bubble storm.Vampire Weekend is influenced by African pop music and Western classical music.
On June 14th, the Central Park SummerStage kicks off its first weekend concert with Columbia University alums, and breakout band, Vampire Weekend along with Kid Sister and Born Ruffians. The concert is scheduled to start at 4 pm, and since the concert is free... Here's how to spend $10 (or less) enjoying the concert at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park.

Event

Location: Central Park

Cost: $ 0.00

Get to the stage early, the concert is free and Vampire Weekend is pretty well known, which ultimately equals pandemonium, if you get to the stage at exactly 4 pm. You and your buddies should roll out at about 2 pm to capture prime seating. The gates open an hour before the event starts.

Transportation

Location: NYC Subway

Fare: $2.00

Total Cost: $4.00 (round trip)

The best way to get to Rumsey Playfield is to take the 6 train to 68th street or take the N,R, W to 5th Avenue. The ride should be pretty smooth, and don't be tempted to spend your cash on the multiple panhandlers who will pass by through the duration of your ride.

Food

Location: The Nearest Hot Dog Stand

Total Cost: $3.50

Okay, I know that hot dogs are made of mashed together unidentifiable meat parts, but they are so good, and above all cheap. You can get a hot dog and a bottle of water, and you'll still have money left to burn. If you aren't a meat fan, then have a pretzel, it can be just as satisfying and costs the same price.

Oh, and you might want to buy two bottles of water, since you'll probably be sitting out in the sun for ages. Do this especially if you have the pretzel (I don't want to be responsible for any dehydration cases on that day).

Event             $0.00
Transport      $4.00
Food & Drink $3.50

Grand Total
: $7.50 (give or take a dollar for the extra water bottle)

The concert is scheduled to end at approximately 8 pm, so take some time to walk around Central Park while it's still early.
