Berkeley Beer Review: Pyramid Apricot Weizen
Few Cal students ever go too far down the west side of Berkeley, as it gets progressively scarier until you end up in the sketchiest Amtrak station you've ever seen. But up a couple blocks from there is a local treasure, untouched by the bourgeois college crowd: the Pyramid Breweries' Alehouse.

The Alehouse is a large and impressive work of architecture, featuring lots of fake plantlife and outdoor seating. They serve food, but you're obviously not here for that. No, you're here for the Apricot Weizen.

Name:
Pyramid Apricot Weizen
Location of Brewery: Seattle, with alehouses in Berkeley, Walnut Creek, and Sacramento
Where Can You Buy: Most markets and liquor stores in Berkeley, and Costco sells it in their Pyramid variety pack.
Mini-Bio: A lighter and fruity version of their Hefeweizen. Won a national award for its distinct taste and innovation. Has an excellent, sweet aftertaste.

Taste: *****
Ease of getting drunk: ***
Coolness of label: ** (apricot isn't very manly)
Likelihood of finding these in Berkeley parties: * (kind of pricey, and if you buy it you're definitely not going to just give it away to drunk strangers)
Cultural richness factor: *** (while it is the pride of American beer, it's only been around for ten years. And its still American beer)
