I've never actually been on Craigslist before, but I've seen a lot of posts here with references to ridiculous things on the site. I thought I'd check it out and try to find some hilariousness myself. I choose the category "strictly platonic" in Ann Arbor because it sounds like a comedy goldmine. WRONG. It's probably the saddest thing I've ever seen. Examples include:

Must like movies, particularly '80s and '90s movies, someone who loves video games and anything nerdy. I'm nice, I drink socially, I don't smoke and I will give free hugs. I want to have conversations with you and maybe party sometime who knows.

I miss the relationship I had with a girl a few months ago. People have always told me to go back to religion but before I make that step I think the human touch, or contact or knowing that there is somebody out there who can care for me is important. I guess craigslist may not be the perfect option, but I still am in hope.

Holy crap! People have to post personal ads on Craigslist for friendship now? What's the world coming to? Maybe I'll try the "men seeking animals" category next time and see if I actually come up with something that doesnt make me want to jump off a roof.
