It’s difficult to believe, but even a guy so desperate and histrionic as to appear on I Love New York 2 (which is even less redeemable than the first season of I Love New York) can find love, or at least a fiancée. David Otunga, who appeared on the VH1 Celebreality show under the moniker “Punk,” gave his girlfriend of less than one year, Jennifer Hudson, a Neil Lane diamond engagement ring on the singer’s 27th birthday. He may have thought he was being really slick in pulling the two-for-one gift, but any Christian kid born on Christmas or Christmas Eve knows how the birthday gipping goes.
Jennifer Hudson and boyfriend, David Otunga, have gotten engaged, her rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.
"I can confirm that Jennifer got engaged to her boyfriend David on Friday night in L.A." says the rep.
Otunga, who is known as "Punk" from the reality show I Love New York 2, popped the question with a Neil Lane diamond ring on the Dreamgirls Oscar winner's 27th birthday.
The couple, who have been dating less than a year, both hail from Chicago.
Oh Jennifer, we know it’s been hard dodging the beefy comments and getting thrown off American Idol after a misguided song choice of Barry Manilow’s “Weekend in New England,” but can’t you snuggle up with that Best Supporting Actress Oscar instead of a guy who goes by the name of Punk? Sure Davey may have attended Harvard Law after graduating from University of Illinois, but the guy actually competed to date Flava Flav’s double leftovers! If you're feeling bad about yourself (inexplicably) just go indulge in something less destructive to yourself like ice cream or knitting or a handle of whiskey!
