Via a tipster's helpful comments, we were alerted that monsters of Celt-rock the Dropkick Murphies are also playing Spring Fling, bringing back the time-honored tradition of having a healthy mix of rock and rap on the President's Lawn. (Not to be confused with rap-rock... that's never healthy, kids.)
If you don't know who the Dropkick Murphies are (aka, you're not from Massachusetts, not Irish, you've never seen a Sox game, never watched "The Departed" and generally don't listen to music) then I would heartily recommend some heavy downloading take place alongside your Spring Fling pre-gaming.
Edit: Sorry if I was unclear, but the only source for this is the tipster's comment. Unlike the news about Common, which showed up in the Bentley school paper, this is completely unconfirmed gossip (hey, that's what we're all about).

Stumble It

sounds ridiculous, i know, but i really wouldn't be surprised if it was true. Posted 03/31/2008 5:12 PMReply
Somehow I doubt this. Posted 03/31/2008 5:54 PMReply

Even if this Dropkick Murphys (good spelling, by the way) rumor is true, that's not the point. The point is that the fact that you people are actually paid to post unsubstantiated, unsourced anonymous ramblings is a complete joke. Posted 04/02/2008 5:43 PMReply

The Dropkick Murphys, the Boston-based band fronted by Portsmouth's Al Barr, will perform at the UNH Field House in Durham on Friday, April 25"
Would work out nicely for the Murphy's to be at Tufts the next day.
Any word from the person who actually broke the story? What's their source Posted 04/02/2008 10:10 PMReply
@ Anonymous: I second that... who broke the story!? Posted 04/03/2008 06:37 AMReply
But i'm asking the person who posted it if they have any reason to think this or was all this speculation pure bullshit? Posted 04/06/2008 4:09 PMReply
